First of all you need to fulfil the requirements.
Host Academy: Attach CV, Personal Letter AND list relevant work experience on your profile. One of the most common issues is no listed work experience
Key things we look for:
- Work experience in a kitchen as a chef, or supporting a chef.
- Cooking and hospitality related education or courses
If you are missing that in your CV you need to motivate very clearly why you are a good chef. We accept persons with less experience if the personal letter highlights "undocumented" skills and interests.
At a later stage if you are invited to a video interview the questions are related to cooking and hospitality. If you know the basic principles around cooking and a variety of dishes you will be able to provide good answers. Candidates that lack passion or knowledge about cooking will not be approved.
If you consider applying ask yourself these questions:
- Would a group of food lovers on a yachting holiday be satisfied with the food I currently cook?
- Am I passionated about food and flavours?
- Is service mindedness my default setting?
Host Academy will trim your skills and help you perform in a yacht galley and the surrounding environment. Host Academy will not teach you basics - the course is for great hobby chefs or pro chefs that have a passion for service and experiences.
