Yes. All new hosts must attend Host Academy, no matter how much prior experience they have.
The Academy isn’t just about cooking skills — it’s where you learn Quarterdeck’s ethos and standards, and what makes Yacht Week unique. You’ll practice cooking in a yacht galley, managing budgets, and creating the right guest experience, while also learning to adapt to the demands of life at sea.
Host Academy also prepares you for working in a team of 10–100 skippers and hosts, operating side by side during some of the most complex flotilla maneuvers and large-scale events in yachting. That kind of teamwork requires far more than hospitality skills — it demands communication, adaptability, and a shared set of procedures that you can only learn at Academy.
From 2025, we run Academies in Croatia and Greece, giving you the chance to experience the routes, meet our multicultural team, and join a professional community of skippers and hosts who set the standard for Yacht Week.
Even if you have extensive hospitality or events experience, Host Academy bridges the gap between what you’ve done before and the unique skillset needed to thrive in the Yacht Week environment.
