What's the application process?

Helps applicants understand exactly how the Academy application works, what information they must keep updated, why availability is critical, and how/when they will be asked to make payments.

Updated over 6 months ago

Step 1: Apply
Submit your application through your Quarterdeck profile. Make sure all sections are fully completed — including your work experience, qualifications, documents, and most importantly, your "Work Availability" calendar. Keep this information accurate and updated, as it’s one of the key factors we use when assigning Academy spots and later work.

Step 2: Screening
We review your application to see if you meet the requirements and if your profile matches what we need. This can take time, especially during the summer months when our focus is on operations.

Step 3: Video interview
If your profile looks strong and your availability is marked, you’ll be invited to complete a 15-minute automated video interview.

Step 4: Candidate review
We assess your video interview together with your application and compare candidates.

Step 5: Outcome
You’ll receive an email confirming whether your application is accepted or unsuccessful. If not accepted, you may apply again, but please note that we cannot provide individual feedback. The most common reasons for rejection are insufficient experience or incomplete profiles.

Step 6: Payments
If accepted, you secure your spot by paying a 10% deposit of the Academy fee.
The remaining fee is split into two instalments:

  • Second instalment: due around 1 month after your acceptance.

  • Final instalment: due in the spring before the summer season begins.

Exact dates and amounts will be confirmed in your acceptance email.
