The application process for Culinary Academy follows a standard sequence. From submission to start of the course, here is what to expect.
Step 1: Apply
Submit your application through the Culinary Academy page on quarterdeck.co. You will be asked to choose your track (career or personal interest), select your preferred week, and create or sign in to your Quarterdeck profile.
Step 2: Upload documents
Through your profile, upload the documents required for your track. See our documents article for the full list per track.
Step 3: Initial review
We review your application, profile, and documents. If your application looks strong, we invite you to the next stage. If it does not, we send you a written outcome so you know where things stand.
Step 4: Video interview
If invited, you record a short one-way video interview, typically around 15 minutes long, covering five questions. See our video interview article for what to expect and how to prepare.
Step 5: Decision
We review your written application together with your video and email you the outcome. Common outcomes are:
Accepted: you are offered a place. The deposit is due within 7 days to secure it.
More information needed: we ask you for additional documents or a profile update before deciding.
Not accepted: we let you know in writing. You can re-apply for a future week.
Step 6: Pay your deposit
Once accepted, you have 7 days to pay your 20% deposit. The remaining course fee is paid in two further instalments. See our payment article for the full schedule.
Step 7: Pre-course logistics
Closer to your course start date, you receive:
The full Culinary Academy Pre-Course Preparation Guide
Specific kitchen address, accommodation suggestions, and transfer details
An invitation to the WhatsApp crew group for your week
Step 8: Arrive
You arrive on Friday for the 16:00 welcome briefing. The course runs through to the following Friday at 15:00.
How long does the process take?
From submission to acceptance is typically a couple of weeks, faster for popular weeks where we are filling spaces quickly. From acceptance to course start can be anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on how far ahead you applied. The instalment plan is calibrated for the typical timeline.
