What happens if my payment is overdue or fails?

Learn what happens if an academy payment is late or fails, including payment retries, extension requests, alternative payment methods, and how refunds work if you cancel instead.

Updated over a month ago

If a payment is not made by the applicable due date, Quarterdeck may cancel your booking. Any sums paid will then be treated in accordance with the cancellation and refund terms set out in your Academy Terms & Conditions.

If you think you may miss a payment deadline, you should contact us as soon as possible before the due date to request an extension. Any extension or alternative payment arrangement will only apply if confirmed by Quarterdeck in writing.

If a payment fails:

  • retry the payment and check any 3-D Secure or SCA prompts

  • confirm the billing name, billing address, available funds, and card limits with your bank

  • try a different card

  • if you still cannot pay, contact us before the due date to discuss an alternative payment method, such as bank transfer

If you are considering cancelling instead of paying, refunds depend on when you cancel in relation to the Course start date:

  • more than 120 days before the Course start date: 100% refund of the sums paid to date

  • 101 to 120 days before the Course start date: 50% refund of the sums paid to date

  • 61 to 100 days before the Course start date: 30% refund of the sums paid to date

  • 60 days or fewer before the Course start date: 0% refund

No refund is available after the Course start date.
