Can I get a refund if I can’t attend Skipper Academy?

Updated over 6 months ago

Yes, but only under specific conditions.

When you book a place on Academy, you enter into a contract with Quarterdeck and commit to pre-scheduled costs (yachts, instructors, marina fees, fuel, logistics). Because of this, refunds are limited and tied to how far in advance you cancel:

  • More than 100 days before the course start → 90% refund of payments made

  • Between 90 and 30 days before the course start → 50% refund of payments made

  • Less than 30 days before the course start → no refund

Additionally:

  • You have a 7-day cooling-off period from the date your booking is confirmed, during which you may cancel and receive a full refund (except bank transfer fees).

  • The cooling-off period does not apply if your course is due to start within 28 days of booking.

  • Once the course has started, no refunds are possible under any circumstance.

Quarterdeck may also cancel or reschedule a course in rare cases (e.g. low registrations or Covid-related disruptions). If that happens, you will be offered either a full refund of fees paid or the option to transfer to another course date.
