All Academy students and Quarterdeck contractors are required to arrange their own insurance. Quarterdeck does not provide personal coverage. You’ll need two different types of insurance at different stages:
Travel Insurance: Strongly recommended for your time at Academy. This should cover medical needs, travel disruptions, and personal belongings.
Third-Party Liability Insurance: Mandatory when working professionally on charter. This protects you if damage or injury occurs while you are operating in your role as skipper or host. (Note: You don’t need this for Academy itself, only once you start assignments.)
It is your responsibility to purchase and maintain valid coverage for the duration of your contract.
