Who this is for. Crew who have found their own private charter or assignment and want Quarterdeck to handle the booking and payment.
Quick answer. Add the booking in your account, tell us who is paying, and QD runs it for you: the client books and pays through QD, we hold the money, and you get paid after the job. There is a flat 100 euro fee, and in return you get paid safely and keep everything in one place.
How to add your booking
Go to External Requests in your account and enter the details:
The yacht or property, and the address.
Start and end date and time.
The pay.
Who should pay, and their contact details.
QD takes it from there, sends the client a request to book and pay, and pays you once the job is done. The link only works once the function is switched on for you, which for now means reaching out to QD to be added as a partner. An automatic version is coming soon.
What it costs
A flat 100 euro per booking, taken from the gross amount agreed with the client or charter company (not added on top of your rate). It covers the transaction fees and the work of processing and securing your payment.
VAT usually does not apply to services provided abroad, but it can depend on your residence, the vessel's flag and where the charter takes place, so check your own position.
How payment and protection works
The client books and pays through QD under our Staff Booking Terms.
They pay up front: a deposit to secure the booking, then the balance before the assignment starts.
If they cancel more than 30 days before the start, they are refunded and the booking falls away. If they cancel within 30 days, the booking is non-refundable, so a late drop-out does not leave you out of pocket.
The money sits with QD and is released to you after the assignment is completed. That protects both sides: the client pays for work that is delivered, and you know the money is already there.
Special terms can apply in some cases. For example, if you have already booked flights or other non-refundable costs for the assignment, tell us when you add the booking and we will look to cover those, even if the client cancels.
