The minimum age to attend Quarterdeck Host Academy is 20 years old.
We set this limit because working as a Yacht Week Host is not just a summer job — it requires maturity, independence, and responsibility. Hosts manage budgets, cook and serve meals in small yacht kitchens, and create a safe, professional, and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.
While the minimum is 20, many of our most successful hosts join later, after gaining hospitality or guest-facing experience. The average age on our teams ranges from 20 up to around 40 years old, which means you’ll work alongside a diverse mix of people at different life stages — from students on summer break to professionals taking time out for adventure.
This mix of ages and experiences is part of what makes the community so unique: no matter where you are in life, you’ll find people you can connect and grow with.
